Paws in the Park 2022

Paws in the Park 2021

Wave FCU attended the ‘Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’ 20th Annual “Paws in the Park” dog walk in September. Wave was a proud “Best Friend” sponsor for the second year and raffled off an amazing basket filled with goodies from local small businesses that included gift cards, dog toys, treats, paw balm, and more. The raffle winner also received a free voucher to attend our next community event, a “Hocus Pawcus” themed photoshoot in October.

It turned out to be a great day filled with pet games and activities, local vendors for people and pets, and tasty treats. All funds raised help support the RI SPCA’s many community programs and services, including adoption, humane education, and high-quality veterinary care for all who need it, including moderate and lower-income families.

A BIG SHOUT OUT to Erika at Wave Federal Credit Union for donating these super cool & colorful bandanas. Our adoptable dogs love them! Check out some of our stylin pups!!

Check out our story on Facebook for more pictures from the event, and if you received some Wave swag for your pup be sure to post and tag us!

About the Event

Each year Paws in the Park is a highly anticipated event by our community and attracts hundreds of animal lovers and their dogs to take part in the FUN-raising! Your support is an exceptional way to gain recognition in the community and make a tremendous impact on the lives of so many animals. Proceeds from Paws in the Park will help support the Rhode Island SPCA's critical community programs and services.

Our Mission

The Rhode Island SPCA was founded in 1870 and is the oldest humane organization in Rhode Island and the 3rd oldest in the United States. With over 150 years of service, we continue to lead the State of Rhode Island in the fight against animal cruelty. While the history of the Rhode Island SPCA is deeply rooted in anti-cruelty, our mission and programs have grown over the years, making us a renowned and reputable resource for animal welfare programs and services in the state.

Community support is vital to our mission

Your support...

  • assists us to find homes for hundreds of animals each year.
  • allows us to provide humane education programming for schools, groups, and organizations.
  • is critical for our Humane Law Enforcement Department to assist animals in need.
  • allows us to reach the people who need our help the most with pet retention programs such as hardship boarding, affordable medical care, and post-adoption support.
