Wave Federal Credit Union is thrilled to share some exciting news – we have been recognized as one of Newsweek’s Best Regional Banks and Credit Unions in the U.S. for 2025! We are honored to be recognized for our dedication to providing outstanding financial services across Rhode Island and positively impacting our community. Wave FCU is proud to be included in this list of the most trusted financial institutions in our country with a 4.5-star rating.
Newsweek partnered with Plant-A Insights Group to evaluate over 9,000 regional banks and credit unions across the United States using a comprehensive methodology. They assessed the Texas Ratio (a measure of a financial institution’s credit quality), profitability, net loans and leases, and press coverage over the past two years. They also analyzed over 71,000 customer surveys, 1.9 million social media reviews and 129 million app store reviews to ensure that their rankings reflect real customer experiences.

We feel honored that we rank highly among the top 500 credit unions nationwide and in the top five credit unions in Rhode Island.
