RI Credit Unions Raise $65,000 for Special Olympics in 2021
Despite the continued challenges due to the pandemic, the Credit Unions of RI continued to support our athletes by donating over $65,000 this year. The RI Credit Unions are one of the largest corporate donors to the Special Olympics Rhode Island. More than $1.38 million has been raised over the past 25 years! These funds ensure that athletes have the opportunity to challenge themselves and enjoy the sense of achievement through athletic involvement.
This year Wave also participated in its 1st “We’re Here for The Dogs” holiday program, partnering up with 10 different non-profit animal rescues all over Rhode Island. Wave and its members were able to sponsor a total of 24 animals, 21 dogs, and 3 cats, donating over 72 items to our RI animal rescues.
Wave FCU is holding its annual Giving Tree holiday drive by collecting gifts, gift cards, and donations. Wave is making the season just a little brighter for many in-need families and elders in our local community. This year’s effort will provide gifts to the families adopted by Westbay Community Action Organization.
